STRATEGIC PLANNING

placeholderResultex provides services in the fulfilment of business strategy via the use of new technology, IT/IS Strategic Planning, whether that be the creation of an ISSP from scratch or reviewing the existing strategic plan, planning new business directions as a result of technology change, or the realignment of the ISSP to meet new business goals. In these areas Resultex personnel have the capability to provide for all your needs.

Our approach is to provide an IT strategic plan that matches your business needs, aligns with the Strategic Business Plan, is practical and can be used as a working document against which successful implementation can be measured.

Our IT strategic plans are business focussed, not technology driven. Our plans don't stay on the shelf, they are pragmatic and relevant to your business.

We don't just do strategic planning for IT either but apply the same principles to the development of strategic plans in the business arena.

Here's just some of the things we've done recently:

  • The updating of the ISSP for Archives New Zealand, an organisation that has specialist needs in the storing and retrieval of documents covering New Zealand's heritage as well as planning and implementing digital records under new legislative requirements.
  • The development of the ISSP for Tertiary Education Commission, following its creation as an organisation. The ISSP created was a practical document covering the establishment of the IT architectural direction of TEC, infrastructure and network upgrades along with the key business drivers from new Government policy. While expected to only have a 12 month life, the ISSP was used as the reference document for the first three years of TEC existence.
  • Resultex has had involvement in the last three versions of the Department of Corrections IT Strategic Plan/ISSP over the last 10 years. The planning process followed by Corrections in latter years is one that ensures a close tie between the strategic plans of the business operations and IT, with a focus on IT supporting business direction and initiatives. This approach mirrors that of Resultex's own philosophies.
  • While providing the CIO to the then Department for Courts, Resultex personnel developed the ISSP for that organisation using a consultative approach involving the business units and their respective drivers.
  • Resultex undertook the initial analysis, facilitation and planning for NZ Police's Wellington regions strategic business plan, tying the initiatives into the national objectives and goals. Resultex is also actively involved in the implementation of this plan.
  • Resultex has had involvement in all three versions of Justice sector Information Strategy (JSIS), the first being in 1996 and the latest one in 2006. Resultex personnel had considerable input into the content of JSIS, often as representatives of the various sector agencies. Resultex was also part of the QA team for the 2006 version. The JSIS is the document that underpins the activities of the various sector working groups and is particularly important when determining interfaces and data flows between agencies.
