Tertiary Education Commission

Resultex has been providing specialist services to TEC since its inception in 2002 in both the IT and business areas. These include:

  • The establishment of TEC's IT environment (organisational, infrastructural and strategic direction) during the first 12 months of TEC's existence. This included, amongst other things, reviewing the inherited applications and infrastructure from Skill NZ, creation of the initial ISSP; applications, infrastructure architectures and security review; network upgrade; establishment of preferred vendor for development services and IT organisational restructure.
  • Executive Leasing of resources to undertake key roles at various times such as Chief Information Officer, Management of the Project Office and IS Manager.
  • Active involvement in the establishment of the tertiary sector information strategy and working group structure between the education agencies.
  • Business analysis for the review of TEC's major business operations and structural changes.
  • Project management of the procurement, contract negotiation and implementation of a financial management information system (FMIS).
  • Establishment of the Project Management Office and subsequent operation of the PMO, providing financial planning and project oversight.
  • Project management of the PBRF (Performance Based Research Funding), including IT system, business planning, organisation of overseas experts and business process change.
  • Business Analysis capability for TEC in a number of their business critical applications and projects.
  • Data analysis and data architectural services, including the creation and management of the Operational Data Store/Data Warehouse and involvement with the sector wide ESAF (Education Sector Architecture Framework) project.
  • Disaster Recovery Planning and Implementation.
  • Project Management of various infrastructure projects.
  • Project and change management of the Electronic Document and Records Management Project.
  • Technology Acquisition including the development of Business Case through to and assisting in the evaluation of RFI's / RFP's and contract negotiation.
